Action shots
Arlo will be one month old tomorrow. He's already gained over two pounds since he was born.
His favorite occupations still seem to be nursing and sleeping, but he recently has added a few more activities to his way of life:
He likes looking at things in the mirror, and looking at his two legged lion that Aunt Terry sent from Peru.
He likes to play fetch with our dog, Huckleberry.
He likes to swing in his new swing that Adam's co-workers gave us.
And he likes to take walks outside and look at the beautiful fall leaves on the trees.

Due date
Arlo's due date was on Saturday, so he is now considered a full term baby. He has continued to gain weight at a fast pace and is now 7 pounds 5 ounces! His cheeks have definitely filled out and he has a few chins, too. We are really enjoying watching him grow and develop his own personality. We have had lots of fun visitors, including Ruby and Lisa who were so nice to bring us dinner last night.

Thank you, mom!
My mom has been here in Portland for 18 days--since the day before Arlo was born. We just took her to the airport this morning. I don't know what we're going to do without her. She has been wonderful with holding Arlo, changing his diapers, doing tons of grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning. It has also been so nice to have her here as a support as we learn what parenting is all about. We are so grateful that she was able to be here for such a long time, and we'll miss her so much!

Two weeks old!
Arlo's cheeks are getting a little chunkier each day. We have an appointment with his pediatrician today and will find out how much weight he has gained since last week.

Arlo's second week at home
Arlo has adjusted pretty well to home life. Not much has changed for him, except he doesn't have the tube through his nose, and he got to meet our dog, "Huckleberry". We've had lots of visitors as well. Sarah's mom, Aunt Lisa, Nate and Ruby have gotten to spend lots of time with little Arlo, as well as various friends from around town.
These are the things that we've learned about Arlo so far:
1. He loves to sleep during the day, and his favorite time to be awake is between midnight and 4 am.
2. He doesn't cry very much... I know I'll regret saying this...
3. He loves having his hands up by his face.
4. He does not like having his arms and hands swaddled.
5. He silently listens when we read to him and sing to him.
7. He likes to dream about nursing.
